Our Story

How It All Began

It all started back in the winter of 2023, during that cool Harmattan season in Ibadan. We were technically "just hanging out," you know, as friends. Except, looking back, she wasn't exactly subtle about wanting it to be more – I too was so into her! Right from the start, I was struck by her. She wasn't just beautiful, there was this genuine kindness about her, a caring vibe that made me want to get her number. We exchanged contacts, and then came the first glimpse of her unique personality: she made this funny request for me to act like I had no idea she was a nurse. I wasn't sure why, but it was memorable. I figured I'd play it cool, maybe wait a bit to reach out, but before I knew it, she called me back. Confidence – I liked that.

Our Journey Together

The connection was instant. Like, lightning speed. One moment we were strangers, the next we felt like we’d known each other forever. We just clicked, falling into this easy rhythm of best friends. That’s when "bro" started. It wasn't planned, it just fit. It perfectly captured that deep friendship, the comfortable vibe, and the way we loved to banter back and forth. She became my bro almost immediately. But that "bro" thing didn't stop the other feelings from brewing. We found ourselves wanting to be around each other constantly. Any excuse to hang out was a good one. And she wasn't shy about it – she’s the type who’s comfortable with public affection, which was new territory but definitely felt right. The real turning point, though, was realizing we couldn't stand going a single day without talking. That silence felt wrong. That’s when I knew, okay, this 'bro' is definitely more than just a bro.

The Proposal

It wasn't all smooth sailing; the distance between us was a real challenge we had to navigate. But we were committed. We had this amazing date on the 2nd of January that really solidified things for us. I remember this one day vividly – we hadn't spoken at all, and that gnawing feeling of missing our connection was intense. Then, later that day, she called. That call felt huge, like a confirmation that this connection was just as important to her. She later mentioned how much she appreciated my intentionality, the way I thought about family and the future, which meant the world to me. So yeah, that's how I met my wife. My bro. It started with a friendly hangout (well, friendly on my end initially!), a funny request about her job, and an instant best-friend connection. It grew into something sweet, romantic, and deeply rooted in that initial friendship. She's still my bro, my partner in crime, the one I banter with – and the love of my life.

Today, as we stand hand in hand, ready to embark on this incredible journey together, our hearts are overflowing with joy and gratitude. Looking out at all of you, who have showered us with love and support, makes this moment even more special.
